Typhoon PreparednessHAVE A PLACE TO GO • Develop a family typhoon preparedness plan before an actual storm threatens your area. • If ordered to evacuate, do not wait or delay your departure. • Select an evacuation destination that is nearest to your home, minimizing the distance for travel. • If you decide to go far, be prepared to wait in traffic. • Make all hotel reservations before you leave. • If unable to stay with friends or family, and hotels are unavailable, go to a shelter as a last resort.

  2. Typhoon PreparednessFAMILY DISASTER PLAN • Discuss the types of hazards that could affect your family. Know your home’s vulnerability to storm surge, flooding and wind. Fire, earthquake, tsunami,… • Locate a safe room in your home for each hazard. • Determine escape routes from your home and places to meet. • Have an out-of-state friend as a family contact. • Make a plan for your pets if you need to evacuate. • Post emergency numbers by your phones. Teach your children how and when to call these numbers. • Test and drill your plan with family members. • Check your insurance coverage

Typhoon PreparednessBUSINESS ISSUES • Take your laptop and Secure ID as required by your company’s business continuity plan. • Obtain and test wireless and dial-up connections. • Get familiar with your company’s business continuity plan, procedures, phone lists, etc. Know and understand your roles and responsibilities! • Ensure your home & emergency contact information is correct on SAP.
