  3. Background The Cognitive Radio System DG met in six periods and considered 5 input contributions in the last WP5D meeting. The progress was made towards the completion of the PDNR ITU-R.[IMT.CRS], which was still remain as a working document at the current stage. With the agreement, the Drafting Group(DG) finished its work with two output documents: Working document towards a draft new Report on CRS Specific to IMT Systems [IMT.CRS] Specifically focused on IMT (5D/TEMP/482R1) ITU-R WP 5A indicated the terms that may have pertained specifically to IMT systems were removed from their report. The workplan for [IMT.CRS] No change for the completion of the report at the 12th meeting of WP 5D (5D/TEMP/479)

  4. Possible Contributions for next WP5D meeting The ITU-R IMT.CRS had a relative solid structure at the last meeting, and it supposed to be finished at the October meeting. The contribution will be provided to update the current [IMT.CRS]. The possible contributions on CRS for the next ITU-R WP5D meeting will focus on the enrich of the current contents, and may involve the following chapters: (is still under discussion and will combine the content from different companies, universities or organizations) Methods for determination of the IMT spectrum usage Performance of IMT systems with CRS capability 4

Possible Contributions for next AWG-10 Background During the AWF-9 meeting held in Seoul, Korea last September, the former SWG-7 which renamed as TG on CRS and SDR in WG Technology Aspects made the questionnaire on SDR and CRS in APT Region based on the received input contributions (AWF-9-OUT-18). The content of the questionnaire is followed the TOR (Terms of References) of TG on CRS and SDR, and in order to enable the AWF to have a better understanding of the current stage of SDR and CRS implementation and development or relevant topics concerned in the region, more than eleven questions were made in this questionnaire. APT member administrations are kindly requested to complete the Questionnaire and return it in time for AWG-11 meeting. During the AWG-10 meeting which was held in Bangkok last March, six responses were received, a questionnaire report (AWG-10/TMP-10) framework has been agreed. 5

  6. Possible Contributions for next AWG-10 on CRS Possible contribution The discussion on the answers to the AWG questionnaire was held in CCSA WG8 after AWG-10, and different views from different members have been collected and carry forward to the next CCSA WG8 meeting (in June or July). An updated feedback for the questionnaire may provided for the next AWG meeting based on the result from CCSA. A contribution to update the questionnaire report (AWG-10/TMP-10) framework Recent activities of other SDOs on this topic. 6
