IsNOTa huge amount of extra work you can finish it on the day
Is not optional If you are absent on Group 4 day it is a MAJORheadache for you, your IB science teacher, and your ib science grade
Ispart of your IB Practical work grade You will be assessed on Personal skills – only time in the whole 2 year course that this is assessed
Be self-motivatedperseverecollaboratecommunicatereflect thoughtfully And you can have 3% towards your ib grade
A word on reflectionit is not an evaluation like in a lab reportit is a thoughtful, detailed self-appraisal of your involvement in this task, discussion of your strengths & weaknesses [not the expt design]
You will work in assigned groups These are not changeable. Check with your teacher which group you are in.
On wed 18th April you will meet your group in the assigned room during regular assembly time You will also meet them again on Wed 2nd May and on actual group 4 day (wed 23rd may after exams)

Your task is to devise a way to measure the length of a song as accurately as possible Your teacher won’t tell you which song until group 4 day. You will “test” your method at the end of group 4 day in front of 5 other groups.
Wed 18thapril– first meeting, introduce yourselves, decide how you will communicate, brainstorm ideasWed 3rd May – ideas finalized, approved by teacher, and equipment list submittedWed 23rd May – 8:30-1:30 working on project. 1:30-3:00 presentation and testing.
