Cake trends come and go, but trends exist for a reason between us. The unicorn, no other trend has been this big. The cake is a combination of two things and hence they are most loved by little girls. Unicorn Cakes Recipe • Baking of the cake • The baking of the cake is the most important part since it acts as a foundation for the whole unicorn cake design. • Start by preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare three round cake pans by applying greasing and lining them with parchment paper or butter paper. You might be thinking about why we need three round cake pans. Since we are taking three colors, we need to prepare cake layers for every color. • Take a mixing bowl, and cream the softened butter and granulated sugar. Mix all these ingredients until it become light and fluffy. • Instead of adding eggs, you can add yogurt or buttermilk, mix it well after the addition, and then stir in the vanilla extract. • Now in another bowl, take the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt together. Mix it well, and gradually add the dry ingredients to the other bowl in which you have already prepared the light and fluffy paste. • Divide the batter equally into three portions, it's time to add food coloring drops to each portion to create the desired color paste. • Pour the batter into the prepared pans, and bake it for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until the toothpick inserted comes out clean. • Once it is done, allow the three cakes to cool completely before removing them from the pans. • Colourful layers of bread for unicorn cakes • How to make the frosting of the unicorn cakes for a birthday? • In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream until it turns into a soft paste. • Make sure that you gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract into it and continue whipping it until it whisks well and turns into stiff peaks form. • Divide the cream into three portions and add food coloring to each respectively. • Completing the Unicorn Cake • Place one cake layer on a serving platter and start spreading the thin layer of the colored whipped cream frosting over the cake as per the color. • Repeat the step with the other two cakes and at the end frost the entire cake with the remaining whipped cream by using a spatula to create a smooth finish.  • Decoration of the Cake

  5. How to Make A Fondant Unicorn Horn • Before starting the decorating process, start with making the horns of the unicorn cake. Here are the steps for making a fondant unicorn horn for cake decorating: • For the horn, take about half a cup of fondant and roll it out to about 15 inches long. Make sure that it is tapered from one end to the other end. • Take a lollipop stick or a wooden skewer and paint the surface with water. Since the water will help your fondant to stick. • Now take the thinner end of the fondant and attach it to the tip of your stick or skewer, twirl it around the stick, and make sure that you leave at least 3 to 4 inches of the skewer free to stick it into the cake later. • Let the fondant harden for about 15 to 20 minutes. Don’t stick the fondant into the cake if it is not hardened. • Once it is hardened, mix a few drops of almond extract with some edible gold dust and then brush the entire horn until it’s gold. It will add a magical spark to the unicorn cake design. • How to Make the Ears for Your Cake • The concept remains the same and the ingredients too. Here are the steps for making ears for your cake: • As the ear colors are usually white and pink, choose white and pink modeling paste to be about half a centimeter thick. • Cut out the outer ears from the white modeling paste and then cut out the inner ears from the pink modeling paste. Make sure that the inner ears are slightly smaller than the outer ears. • Let the ears dry on a rounded surface, like a rolling pin. Let them harden properly, you can even leave them overnight for better results. • Use edible glue to attach the ears to the cake. • How to Make the Eyes and Mane • An eye and mane are the last elements in unicorn cake design. Usually, the eyes are created by piping black buttercream frosting. They are simple to make, all you need to do is to create small arches with gentle flicks upwards for the lashes.  • When it comes to the mane, pipe rosettes can be used with different colors of pastel buttercream frosting. Cover the base of the horn with rosettes and have it down to the side of the cake. Top the mane with candies, and edible glitters, or even you can add cookies or any goodies as per your preference.

  7.  Steps • Take the cupcakes, now it’s time to roll out the white fondant and cut out circles. Make sure that the circles cover the top of each cupcake. • Shape the ears, they should be about a half-inch tall. Make sure that they are thicker than what you put on a cake. • For the horns, create strips of white fondant, they should be about two inches long. Now fold the fondant strips in half and twist the two halves together. • It’s time to paint, so take a small paintbrush and paint the ears and the horns with gold dust. • Using the edible black pen, draw the eyes and eyelashes, and using the light pink frosting, make a line across the unicorn just below the horn. • Create a dot on the top of the line to create a flower crown.
