  1. “What about…” Aledo Church of Christ Summer Series 2014

  2. “Trinity” & Holy Spirit “Define, describe, explain the Holy Trinity” “How does the Holy Spirit work in us today?”

  3. How does the Holy Spirit work in us today? If the Holy Spirit is God, then He can do anything He desires just as the Father and Son can do. But, I can only know how God acts if He chooses to communicate His actions. Therefore, I can only know how the Spirit works from what I read in Scripture. “…for all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27, NASU)

  4. 5 Views of the Indwelling of the Spirit • Does not dwell in humans at all. • Dwells representatively by the Word. • Dwells in miraculous measure and empowers tongues, miracles, etc. • Dwells in Christians effecting salvation, sanctification, and preservation of the saints. • Dwells in the Christian literally/personally but in a non-miraculous way.

  5. The Holy Spirit’s Ability - Infinite What the Bible Specifies About The Working of the Spirit In Us. New Testament Examples of the Holy Spirit working in Christians

  6. A Word of Caution “In secular Gk. [blaspheme] is a. "abusive speech" (misuse of words)… b. The word means further the strongest form of "personal mockery and calumniation….” c. It then means "blasphemy of the deity" by mistaking its true nature or violating or doubting its power.” Beyer, Hermann. “Blasfhme/w”. Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, Vol. 1, p. 621. • “Blasphemy” • The H.S.: Mt. 12:31, Mk. 3:28, Lk. 12:10 • Mt. 9:2-3, Jn. 10:33, Mt. 26:64-66 • “Profane” • Lev. 19:12 • Lev. 22:32 • “Holy” Lev. 10:3, 1 Pt 1:15-16 • “Presumptuously” Dt. 18:20-22 “Profane” (verb): “1. To treat irreverently. 2. To put an improper, unworthy, or degrading use: Abuse.” Webster’s II: New Riverside University Dictionary, p. 939.
