  2. objectives of the project „Think globally, act locally“ implementation of measures to improve the ability of the country to retain water: • To prevent drought, • To prevent floods, • To improve microclimate in towns. Raise awareness of students, teachers and the public about these measures.

  6. 1 curriculum • Implementation of water management into the curriculum and plans in biology, chemistry, geography, english, german and culture and art for students of four-year study and eight-year study (tercia-oktava)

  7. 2Video seminars • and workshops • objective: • Increase international cooperation of students, • familiarization with climatic changes and water management, measures in Slovakia and germany. • participants: • Team of 10 students from our school and 10 students from a partner school • Expert consultants – biology teacher and foreign language teacher. • System of work: • opening videoconference – introduction to the topic, introduction of the students, arrangement of groups and assignment of common tasks, • Work in groups – within 3 months, students will collaborate via videoconferences and social networks. Expert consultants and english teachers will be at students’ disposal. • Final videoconference – presentation of works of different groups of students and conclusion.

  8. 3 conference about water management • expected date 5 June,2015 on world environment day Lectures for students and the public led by: • Experts from slovak academy of sciences, • Experts dealing with adaptive measures to retain water in the country, • Experts from slovakhydrometeorological institute, • Experts from nitra city council dealing with environment.

  9. 4 Doors open day • Presentation of work on the project and its outputs, • Form of presentation is the so-called ”project day” - presentation of students’ projects, which will present the role of water in the country and the possibilities of its retention from different points of view.

  10. 5 Kalazans games • propagation and promotion of the project among children in a gamesome way, • We will involve the volunteers: • scout organization, • voluntary organization YMCA MZ NITRA.

  11. 6 Kalazans forum • Propagation and promotion of the project for teachers, • One of the topic of the forum will be information about the theme of the project and sharing experiences with an implementation of new curriculum and a new approach in education. • Students, who are involved in work on the project, will also present their experiences.

  12. Project timetable • PROJEcT will be implemented • until 31 March, 2016
