  2. About Us Seasons lodge is a family built, and family run, hotel, opened in 2011 by the Clarkes, an Irish-Ugandan family, based in Zanzibar, Uganda and Ireland. It is situated in Pongwe on the east coast of Zanzibar. It is just under one hour’s drive from the airport and from Stonetown – on a tarmac road. Much of the mortar we used to piece it all together is a kind of limestone (or ‘chokaa’ in Kiswahili), a local material, and a more eco-friendly option than cement.

  4. Facilities & Activities We have mountain bikes that are available for exploring local villages and roads off the beaten track. Kayaks are also available to explore the coastline and marine life. A boat, with snorkelling equipment, can take you out to the reef to explore the underwater life off shore. There is a flat screen TV in the ‘Bar es Salaam’ which will show all popular sporting channels or others on request. The bar, restaurant, and reception area in the main block has a wireless internet connection.
