  2. Definition • Extra Sensory Perception-refers to the ability to gain insight on a subject without using the physical senses. This means, knowing about a subject without getting to see, hear, smell, taste, or feel it. • Often referred to as the 6th sense

  3. Different types • Telepathy • Being able to read or feel other peoples thoughts. It usually happens when you are close to someone being able to finish sentences or answer questions without actually being asked. • Clairvoyance • Dreaming of events that hasn’t happened yet • Gut feeling good or bad

  4. Psychology? • E.S.P is not a proven form of psychology • Many tests have been done throughout the years. • The most noted test was conducted in 1933-1934 at Duke University, by J.B. Rhine. • Pearson and Pratt (subjects) • Using E.S.P cards (emotionally neutral) • Across campus with subject tracking • Results were later discussed in 1954 • Results inconclusive (due to possible cheating)

  6. Do you believe? • Does everyone have extra sensory perception? • Almost everyone has, at some point , experienced e.s.p. • a dream that had come true • a feeling that something bad or good was going to happen and later it does • Thinking of a friend you haven’t seen in long time and they call you out of the blue • Hearing your name being called by a family member who isn’t there
