EU Structural Investment Funds in the SE LEP area • Aligned to the Strategic Economic Plan to deliver jobs and growth in the SELEP area • £165 million indicative allocation £82.5 European Regional Development funds (ERDF) and £82.5 European Social Fund (ESF) • 7 year funding • Focussed and targeted interventions

Focus of the EU Funds • European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) • Innovation – knowledge transfer • SME support • Low Carbon • European Social Fund (ESF) • Employer-led infrastructure and enhanced information • Apprenticeships and other vocational provision • Up-skilling the workforce and supporting SME growth • Active inclusion, transition to work and reducing youth unemployment

So what does this mean? • Actions / projects can support social enterprises and community groups… • …but have to demonstrably deliver Growth & Jobs • Requirements for delivering against Structural Funds… • …but some flexibilities and freedoms in delivery • Government’s EU Growth Programme needs to be adhered to… • …but LEP and its partners responsible for determining direction of investment programme and projects
