Houffalize fue el lugar elegido por los Alemanes para iniciar la ofensiva del invierno del 44, la denominada Ofensiva de las Ardenas. Los motivos de conmemoración y recuerdo que se encuentran en la ciudad hacen mención exclusiva a la "liberación"
