  2. Slope intercept form of a line • Y = mx+ b • b is the y-intercept – point where it intersect the y – axis. • m is the slope of the line. Rise over run.

Steps to follow • Y=mx + b • Find where the line intersects the y-axis, put that number in the b spot of the equation. • Decide if the slope is positive or negative, put that in front of the x leaving room for a number. • Draw a right triangle on the line. It must go thru an exact corner. This triangle will help identify the rise and the run of the line. • Write the number for the slope in lowest terms.
