  2. What is Compliance • Compliance, in its broadest meaning, is conformance on the part of a federal department or agency with existing EEO laws and the Federal Personnel system. FEW is primarily concerned with the regulations and compliance with these laws by monitoring agency programs and providing guidance to FEW members and other employees.

  3. WHAT IS FEW’S INVOLVEMENT? • FEW’s Compliance Program monitors the progress made by the federal government in achieving equal employment opportunity evidenced by its adherence with statutory civil rights protections, including the Equal Pay Act of 1963, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, section 501 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and Civil Rights Act of 1991

FEW’S CONCERN • Compliance policies and practices of primary concern to FEW are : • Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action • Promotion and upward mobility • Recruitment, selection, and placement • Reassignment and Reduction in force • Position classification and pay administration • Grievance, adverse action, and appeal procedures • Disciplinary action and rewards • Training, details, reorganization and Sexual Harassment

FEW’S COMPLIANCE PROGRAM • Monitor policies and practices of agencies and activities • For conformance with requirements of statutes, executive orders, and regulations • Take action to assist agencies and activities in correcting identified deficiencies. • Provide guidance on compliance issues to FEW members who request assistance. • Guidance for Compliance Chairs included in FEW’s NPPM, Compliance Chapter

  6. FEW’S COMPLIANCE ACTIVITES • Meet with agency officials at EEOC and OPM to identify common goals and strengthen partnerships. • Provide guidance on compliance issues to FEW members who request assistance. • MOU with Shaw, Bransford, & Roth provides telephone consultations to members. Present issues that have been referred for resolution and address resolutions that have been adopted. • FWP Resolution: Furnish guidance on compliance to regions and chapters.

  7. GET INVOLVED! • FEW’s grassroots compliance efforts play a vital role in implementing the Compliance Program across the FEW network. FEW’s Compliance Committee is comprised of members and others with an interest in compliance. There is always room for another volunteer. We welcome your contributions to FEW and the Compliance Committee.
