  1. Welcome to the Area 1-C RESPRO Meeting June 23, 2009

  2. Outcomes: At the end of the meeting we will have: An understanding of how generational differences can affect organizational and school culture so that we can use these differences to build a stronger team.

  3. Outcomes: At the end of the meeting we will have: Gained new tools for facilitation and presentation so that we can add to our tool boxes. RESPRO Tool Box

  4. Outcomes: At the end of the meeting we will have: Developed a list of resources so that we can better serve our schools and districts.

  5. Outcomes: At the end of the meeting we will have: Shared and celebrated successes from our individual areas so that we identify area-wide commonalities of our success.

  9. GENERATIONS… Go to the decade you graduated from HIGH SCHOOL Discuss and record MAJOR EVENTS that were happening during that decade: Political Milestones, Headlines, Events, Figures Cultural Music, Movies, Fashion, Trends

  11. GENERATIONS… Move to the decade you began your career in EDUCATION. Discuss and record MAJOR EDUCATIONAL TRENDS that were happening during that decade: Include Parents, Teachers, Students, Administrators, Community, etc…

  13. Each GENERATIONhas . . . different values different ideas different work ethics different attitudes toward authority different outlooks on life

  14. Look over the Generational Chart. Have a 3 minute sharing of AHAs! from the Generational Chart. Boomers, Busters, Bridgers

  15. It’s time for a POP-UP! Give me a number 5-9 Pop up with an Ah-Ah! from the chart!

  18. ISBE Updates…??? Many schools have data in IWAS. Clock could begin ticking when last elementary school’s data is posted???? PSAE Data???

  19. ISBE SIP Updates New SIP template not up yet. Template should not change. Checklist for readers will change- more of a checklist for compliance. This checklist will be made available to schools.

  22. Placemat Consensus Draw a large circle on your placemat. Draw a smaller circle in the center of the placemat.

  23. Placemat Consensus • Divide the large circle into 4 sections • Mark each section 1-4 • Count off 1-4 at your table 4 1 3 2

  24. Placemat Consensus • What are the “hot topics” that are the most pressing or urgent for your schools? • Individual Brainstorming for 2 minutes • Record in your section (1-4).

  25. Placemat Consensus Teammate 1 shares ONE item. Teammates discuss that item. If there is consensus that the item is a hot topic for all, Teammate 1 records a synthesis of the item in the center of the placemat, seeking help with wording if needed.

  26. Placemat Consensus The process is repeated with Teammate 2, then 3 then 4. The process continues until all items have been discussed. Total of 15 minutes

  29. Group Report Each Group will share and briefly discuss one idea from their list. We will take turns sharing until all ideas have been shared.
