  1. LIR Emergency Procedures Mandatory 5-10 minute emergency presentation to LIR enrolled participants. All class doors must be locked. Late participants must knock to enter.

Violence on Campus Procedure • Not in Immediate Area: • “Lock down:” Seek shelter in closest room. • Close, lock, and barricade door if possible (desk, chairs…) • Close blinds and turn off lights. • Stay away from doors & windows. • Remain quiet & silence phones. • Remain until “All Clear” by police or campus

Violence on Campus Procedure • Immediate Area • 2 critical calls to: 911 and office Waukesha 262-695-6504 • Evacuate room • Hide out… get out of the way • Take action to protect self. • When police arrive: • Obey police instructions… initially everyone is a suspect. • Police will bypass the injured; job is to find the ‘perpetrator’

  4. Fire: • Pull fire alarm • Leave through nearest exit. Do not use elevator. • Evacuate to staging area • WCTC Sign-center front sidewalk at road. • Call 911 • Tell manager on duty or person at 262-691-5555 Staging Location: place for entire class to gather WCTC Sign-center front sidewalk at road.

  5. Medical Emergencies: • make 2 critical calls: 911 and front desk • check scene to see if it is safe • assign person to meet ambulance and get First Aid Kit/AED • provide privacy for patient (clear room) • provide whatever 1st aid you can give • alert facilities staff to disinfect scene (if bodily fluids are involved) • help with information for incident report that day • **If unsure of whether to call 911, call anyway and let professionals make a decision if transportation by ambulance is necessary.

  6. Severe Weather • Report to designated shelter area… see map by door. • Waukesha – basement - • handicapped upstairs bathrooms • Use stairs rather than elevators. • Remain until “All Clear”

  7. Alert Beacons in Hall: --flashes, beeps, talks and texts messages in building and outside --extremely loud and attached to speakers --will tell: what’s happening and give directions --desktop override: pops up on active computer screen Panic Buttons in Hall: --locatedbelow Alert Beacon -- silent alert to internal Safety Office & Police Officer at Pewaukee Campus -- used for medical conditions and disturbances in hall or class -- still call 911 and alert office desk. (Panic Button does not call 911)

  8. Emergency Evacuation Map (located by doors) --green areas = shelters --dot = room location --red cross = first aid kits and AED --location of stair chair for handicapped and exits -- meet at staging location Emergency Procedure Flip Charts: --notify office if missing chart --hang below emergency evacuation diagram by door
