  2. Born into a simple farmer’s family in Loni, Ahmednagar in 1901 Early life

  3. Organized the farmers of 44 villages in and around Pravaranagar by 1948.

  4. He established Asia’s first Co-operative Sugar Factory which was started in 1949.

  5. He raised awareness amongst the small peasants and rural poor, through spread of technical and non-technical education

  6. Dr. VikhePatil Foundation, Pune, is a Public Trust registered under Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 with registration No. E - 672 (Pune), was established in 1980 in memory of Padmashree Dr. VitthalraoVikhePatil

  7. HIS WORK WAS RECOGNISED NATIONWIDE

  8. The immense potential of this model was recognized and appreciated by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru as early as in the year 1961 during his visit to Pravaranagar.

  16. Addressed the problems of unemployment, poverty, ignorance and illiteracy in the new global environment.

  17. HEALTH REFORMS

  18. Established Pravara Rural Hospital in 1972, which has emerged as an ultra modern, 750 bedded well equipped hospital with expert doctors. The hospital undertakes comprehensive community health care of the villages and provides health services at affordable rates, now the help of superspeciality

  19. The institution has been serving the underserved tribalsand people of 500 villages at their doorsteps through various innovative programmes and empowerment of Female Health Volunteers

  20. All our schools are working towards creating health awareness amongst our Staff and Children. Healthy, nutritious food is served in all our schools. International collaboration with a Swedish School, AlvbodaFriskola is working towards improving the health of all the staff of Dr. Vikhe Patil Foundation. ROLE OF OUR SCHOOL

  21. Padmashri emphasized plantation of medicinal plants which is carried forward by his grandson, our Chairman, Dr. Ashok Patil.

  22. His dream of having a green environment is taking shape in all our campuses in Pune, Loni and Nashik. We have tree plantation every year on this day!!
