Respect • Following the Golden Rule- Treat others the way you want to be treated • Be accepting of differences – even if they look, act or believe differently • Use good manners, not bad language • Caring about the feelings of others • Don’t threaten, hit or hurt anyone • Solve disagreements peacefully

  4. Ways to Show Respect • Help your parents at the store. • Eat dinner as a family. • Do your homework without an argument. • Raise your hand in class. • Listen to the teacher and other students. • Work together nicely. • Do not litter. • Say the Pledge of Allegiance and sing the National Anthem.

  5. Responsibility • Do what you are supposed to do • Plan ahead • Persevere: keep on trying! • Always do your best • Use self-control • Think before you act — consider the consequences • Be accountable for your words, actions, and attitudes • Set a good example for others

  6. Ways to Show Responsibility • Brush your teeth. • Get dressed on your own. • Make your bed. • Save your money. • Clean up after yourself. • Work hard in school. • Return your library books. • Obey street signs • Don’t smoke.

  7. Fairness • Play by the rules • Take turns and share • Be open-minded; listen to others • Don’t blame others carelessly • Treat all people fairly • Take the time to get to know a person

Ways To Be Fair • Taking Turns when you play with friends, family and teammates. • Sharing when there isn’t enough for all. • Showing good sportsmanship. • Cheer for all players. • Listening to one another when we have a conflict. • Ask questions before you blame someone. • Help everyone to meet a goal.

  9. Caring • Be kind • Be compassionate • Express gratitude • Forgive others • Help people in need

Ways to be Caring • Be kind to your pets. • Spend time with your family. • Help siblings get ready in the morning. • Say “Thank You” as often as you can. • Keep your community clean. • Help people in need- donate food, collect clothing for those in need. • Stand up to bullying- Be an Upstander.

  11. Citizenship • Do your share to make your school and community better • Cooperate • Get involved in community affairs • Stay informed; vote • Be a good neighbor • Obey laws and rules • Respect authority • Protect the environment • Volunteer

Ways to be a good Citizen • Work together as a team to solve problems. • Listen to everyone's ideas. • Respect everyone’s opinions and beliefs. • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle at home, in school and in the community. • Participate in school and community events. • Ask to vote with your parents and vote when you turn 18. • Hold a door for someone. • Help if someone drops their things. • Follow the rules/laws.
