Strengthening Aquaculture Institutions in Honduras: Enhancing Human Resources and Research Capabilities

The CRSP project in Honduras has focused on strengthening institutions and improving human resources for aquaculture development. From 1983 to the present, initiatives like training programs at the El Carao National Fish Culture Station and collaborations with local organizations have facilitated significant advancements in fish culture. Key figures like Ponciano Cruz, a recognized agriculture extension agent, have provided vital technical assistance to over 200 farmers annually. Improved infrastructure, research on environmental impacts, and networking efforts have been pivotal in creating sustainable aquaculture practices.
