WELCOME How To Cure Your Marijuana Harvest
What Harvest ? • Growing your own Marijuana has become a national trend. • Once considered strictly taboo, its popularity has soared to the point that is now legal to grow, purchase, possess and consume in several states. • Once fought for strictly for the medicinal value, society is beginning to realize and accept the value of Marijuana as an acceptable alternative to alcohol.
Grow it • Growing good quality bud is a science and an art from all in one. There are many different strains, and many different growing techniques. • Whether you chose to grow indoors or out, there are many factors and variables involved in cultivating a successful harvest. • Improper drying and curing can effect the taste and the potency of your crop, ruining an otherwise productive effort.
Dry it • Many people believe you need to hang your plants upside down to dry. This is a myth. • Tests have shown that potency is unaffected by the position during drying. • What is important, is the temperature and the humidity. • Keep it dark, UV light can affect the potency. • Keep it warm, but not enough to cause mold it to will. And, keep a good air current circulating to remove that “cut grass” smell. Dry until the stems break after bending them half way.
Cure it • Curing is really just continued drying in a more controlled environment. • The idea is to give the stems a chance to let all of their nutrients seep into the buds, without letting them dry out. You want the humidity to stay between 60% and 65%, so you may want to use some Tupperware or a mason jar to put it in to control the moisture. • You can open the container for an hour or so at a time to reach those levels slowly. Knowing the right level of moisture in the plants takes some practice. If you really want to do it right, get a container that’s actually built for the job.
