INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARK- Equity benchmark indices erased its early gains as selling pressure was seen in NIFTY Reliance, Airtel, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. On the other hand, HDFC, Infosys and ICICI Bank were the top contributors to CLOSE PREVIOUS the Sensex gain. The BSE Mid-Cap index was down 0.07%, NIKKEI while the BSE Small-Cap index was up 0.28%. The market breadth was tilted in favour of the seller on the BSE. Around 1,178 shares rose, 1, 215 shares fell and 185 shares were 2080.62 unchanged. SECTORIAL INDICES ! MARKET TALKS Telecom stocks drop after SC rejects definition of AGR; Vodafone Idea slumps India’s largest wireless carrier Vodafone Idea tanked 20.5%, while Bharti Infratel slumped over 7% after the media reports said that the Supreme Court has rejected the telecom companies' definition of Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR). The Supreme Court today has rejected telecom companies' government's definition of adjusted gross revenue ! Bandhan Bank's Q2FY20 net profit jumps 99.18% at Rs972cr; stock up 4% ! Bandhan Bank's net profit for Q2FY20 grew by 99.18% yoy to Rs972cr as against Rs488cr in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.Net Interest Income (NII) for the quarter grew by 41.84% to Rs1, 529cr as against Rs1, 078cr in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. On-interest income also rose by 56.96% to Rs361cr for the quarter ended September 30, 2019, as against Rs230cr in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Maruti Suzuki's PAT declines 39% yoy; stock down 1% ! Maruti Suzuki's net profit was down by 39.4% yoy at Rs1, 358.6cr in Q2FY20 as against a profit of Rs2, 240.4cr in Q2FY19. The profit came lower on account of lower sales volume, higher sales promotion expenses and higher depreciation expenses, partially offset by cost reduction efforts, higher fair value gains on invested surplus and reduction in the corporate tax rate.
