  1. WHAT TYPES OF WORKERS COMP BENEFITS ARE AVAILABLE IN ILLINOIS? No one in Illinois expects to be injured on-the-job, but when someone unexpectedly injured, he/she may be primarily concerned with regaining their health. However, there are many other expenses associated with the injury he/she suffered. When this happens, he/she may want to seek workers compensation benefits in Illinois. There are many benefits that a worker might get through the worker’s compensation system in Illinois. BENEFITS 01 Total Disability Benefits If the employee cannot work because of the injury and needs time for recovery, he/she might seek temporary total disability benefits. 02 Temporary Partial Disability Benefits If the employee can return to the workplace but can perform light-duty and not getting enough payment as he/she was getting before the injury, that employee can seek temporary partial disability benefits. 03 Permanent Partial Disability Benefits If the employee is injured on-the-job and suffers a permanent disability, but otherwise can return to the workplace, he/she can apply for permanent disability benefits. 04 Permanent Total Disability Benefits If the employee has a permanent disability and cannot return to the workplace, he/she is eligible for permanent total disability benefits. 05 Death Benefits If an employee is killed in a workplace accident, his/her family members may be able to pursue death benefits. To pursue these workers compensation benefits, a worker can hire an attorney and get a better understanding of what benefits he/she may be eligible for and how to pursue them. capronlaw.com
