  33. Some think it’s great for practice...

  34. There’s increasing evidence of its use:

  35. But demands on faculty are high:

  36. As apparently are those on students*:(from Nicole Minnicks “WebCT in my French for Business and Technology course” PPT presentation)

  37. Yet, these are the E-Business and Tech course conclusions*: (from Nicole Minnicks “WebCT in my French for Business and Technology course” PPT presentation)

  38. Whatever we choose, Web-based FL Tech Strategies are here to stay!

  39. Yet, as this FAD editorial states: “Internet projects created without consideration of the needs of the users, but which respond essentially to institutional desires, are doomed one by one to abandon.”

  40. FL TECH STRATEGIES THAT WORK : • Are meaningful, interactive and user-centered ! • Are linguistically and culturally REAL ! • Enhance the ability to communicate with and understand other peoples and cultures. • Do not waste faculty/ student time and energy. • Motivate longer sequences of FL study. • Expand planetary consciousness. • Enable life-long multilingual, multicultural connections.
