  1. Fleet Returns MF Program Office 2008 LRG 21 May 2008

  2. Fleet MF Return Issues • Follow established procedures outlined in MF manuals • AG-360MF-IIN-000 Chapter 10 • NA 19-25-177 WP. 4 & 18 delineate ECU shoring procedures • Ship MFs for deployments or back to MF Configuration Sites in the same condition as received from MFCSs • Use common sense for MF pack-outs; we cannot define shipping instructions for x381+ MF configurations • New Paragraph in all shipping and authorization messages will contain: • “ALL INTERNAL EQUIPMENT MUST BE PROPERLY SECURED IAW APPLICABLE MANUALS TO PREVENT ANY MOVEMENT OR DAMAGE DURING SHIPMENT.”

  3. Fleet Awareness • Be cognizant of the fact that there are two standard size ECU shoring rods—5/16” vs. 3/8” • Everything lose, must be properly secured • Damage caused during shipment results in unnecessary costs • Recent comment in Naval message: • “SHORING BLOCK AND WEDGES WERE NOT UTILIZED BUT PRESENT IN MF.”
