  2. The research setting • an Internet company which manages a portal that provides services to a mass audience (personalized homepage news, e-mail, sms, thematic channels, e-commerce...) • 40 people • 2 main work groups: producers & engineers

Data • Ethnographic method • Data • Video and transcriptions (conversational analysis): 10 hrs Log Instant Messanger: 3hrs Email (related to the interactions ) : 23 Papers (related to the interactions ) : 10 items Photos : 20 Print screen of the website and various applications: 10 items Interviews Notes

In this presentation I will analyze how the design process is socially organized. • I will explore in particular relevant design activities such as: • Participating in teamwork • Interacting • Imagining absent objects • Designing actions • Embodying “future” interactions in technological products
