  21. Dress Code-Dress for Success • Behavior and performance are reflective of appearance, and when one or both are inappropriate in an educational atmosphere, education may be deterred. • Dress code enforcement often becomes difficult because there is a degree of subjectivity when evaluating the dress of a student. New clothing and fashion trends can be source of confusion and differing opinions between adults and students. • Regardless of what a garment is called or the material the clothing is comprised, the spirit of the dress code is to exclude students from wearing clothing that is deemed to be inappropriately tight or form fitting.

  22. Dress Code Highlights Rule Consequences Range from requiring a student to change and parental notification to multiple days of I.S.A.P. We need parents help to avoid consequences. If possible, please check your student before they go to school. • Dresses, skirts, or shorts must be fingertip length • Legging, jeggings, tights and yoga pants are not considered a pant alone • Students are not permitted any type of hat, headband or bandana. All hats must be kept in your locker from 7:25-2:25 (except for documented religious reasons) • Pants are not permitted to be ripped, torn or damaged • Pants must be worn at the waist • Shoes must be worn at all times • Students are not permitted to wear muscle shirts or tank tops with spaghetti straps (2 fingers wide at the shoulder) • No chains, studs, etc. • See Rule 16 in handbook for complete list
