INFLUENCING PREFERENCE OF AN INDIVIDUAL • Cannot influence party preference • Cannot display any political or candidate preference or party allegiance • Cannot make any statement or action to discourage registration • Cannot make any statement or action to imply services or benefits will be affected

  4. WHO MAY REGISTER? • Citizens of the United States • Citizens living in Virginia • Must be at least 18 years old by date of election • Must not claim right to vote elsewhere • Must not currently be in prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony or judged incapacitated

  9. WHERE TO SEND THE COMPLETED FORM Review the Section entitled "Completion of the Application Form" before forwarding the forms to the State Board of Elections. It is important that all requirements are met before the application is released from your agency.

  11. REGISTRATION DEADLINEin Virginia Code of Virginia § 24.2-416.4 • Mail voter registration applications with no postmark or an illegible postmark shall be deemed timely if received through the United States mail no later than 5 days following the close of the registration books.
