  1. SYSA Indoor Flag Football Coaches Meeting Thursday, February 7th SYSA Bingo Hall, 6:00pm

  2. SYSA Mission • “To provide sports activities for all youth where everyone plays, develops skills, is taught good sportsmanship, and learns the value of being a team player.”

Code of Conduct • Code of Conduct • Coaches will respect players, opponents, and officials • Players will respect each other, coaches, and officials • Coaches may talk with but MAY NOT argue with officials • Players will not argue with or question calls/no calls from officials • 1st/2nd Grade: 1-2 coaches on field at any time • 3rd-6th Grade: Only one coach allowed on field

  4. SYSA Flag Football • All games will be played at SYSA Indoor Sports Center(730 N. Hamilton) • No alcohol OR tobacco use at ISC. • Teams organized by age and school. • Games will be Friday Nights and Saturday (All Day) • 1st/2nd Grade: Most games on Saturday Mornings • 3rd-4th Grade: Games on Fridays and Saturday mornings-early afternoons • 5th-6th Grade: Games on Fridays and Saturday afternoon-evenings.

  5. Practices • SYSA DOES NOT provide practice space • SYSA does not promote practices • It is up to coach if your team practices or not • If you do practice, not required for kids to show up. • Players missing practice still must play 50% of the game.

  6. Miscellaneous Information • Parking • Between Games • Concussion Protocol • Blood on Jersey • Arrive Early on First Day

  7. First Game Option • Play one 25 Minute Half • Use first twenty minutes as a practice • Thoughts?

  8. Playing Rules • Every player must play half the game • A player may play a MAXIMUM of 1 Half per game at quarterback OR running back • Each player shall play equally on offense and defense each game • No extra points after touchdowns • No kickoffs. Ball placed at 5 yard line • No hurdling, no stiff arms, no flag guarding • If a team declares a “punt,” ball will be placed at midfield. • Emphasis on Player Safety

  9. End of Season Tournament • $120 Additional Team Fee • Similar to Candy Bowl • 2 Game Guarantee • March 29-31 • 4 Team Max for 1st/2nd Grade • 8 Team Max for 3rd/4th Grade • 8 Team Max for 5th/6th Grade

  10. Other Information • Schedules will be released no later than February 11th • Time: 2 Halves. 20 Minutes Each. Running Clock. • The field is 40 yards long and 22 yards wide. • The field shall be divided into 2 15-yard zones. When the ball is first downed in a zone, the team in possession has four downs to move to the next zone or score. • No jumping over the boards. Use door to field
