  2. New entitlement for nursery children From September 2010 all children can access 15 hours funding • The minimum number of funded hours in any one day is 2 hours • - The maximum number of funded hours in any one day is 10 hours • - The maximum number of funded hours in any two days is 13 hours • - The full 15 hours cannot be taken in less than three separate days • - The hours cannot be split between more than two different settings (These can be split between maintained and PVI)

  3. What does flexibility mean The key principles underpinning the flexible offer are: • Ensuring parents have the option to access more then just sessional provision • Ensuring that provision reflects what parents need • Creating a range of provision and options for parents to access their 15 hours

  4. What do we need to do • Consult with parents so we can determine demand • Decide what level of flexibility we wish to offer • Look at any changes we need to make to our staffing structure and working times

  5. Things we will need to consider • Identify how we will offer the extra hours • Re organise the curriculum • Plan for the new staffing arrrangements • Financial implications of the change
