  1. LEADER in Estonia ELARD cooperation meeting Tallinn, 31.03.2015 Ave Bremse Estonian NSU

  2. Estonian NSU will continue with the same structure and administration as previous period • Legal status - under the Estonian Ministry of Agriculture in Rural Economy Research Centre. Location: Jäneda, Lääne-Viru County, ESTONIA • New period started – October 2014 • 2014-2020 – 8,5 employees –innovation specialist and web designer

  3. The main goals for Estonian NSU activities • To improve the quality of RDP implementation; • Participating at RDP communication; • To increase the involvement of target groups and inform wider public and potential beneficiaries about rural development policy; • To contribute on the development of innovation in agricultural, food, forestry andrural sectors. • LEADER measure: information days, seminars and summer-seminar about place-marketing;

  4. The main activities to fulfill the goals (1) • Collecting and disseminating RDP project examples; • Information-change and training activities for LEADER LAGs • Participating at work of European Rural Network Unit. • Partnership search

  5. Estonian NSU activities for LEADER • Info-days (MA+PA) – 4 per year • Thematical seminars (depends of needs) • Summer seminar – once per year • Cooperation activities (LINC) • International activities • Best parctice distribution – databases, booklets, etc • Weekly e-newsletter includes always LEADER topics • Books, exhibitions • etc

  6. Communication activities • April 2015 – The Rural Fair – RDP 2007-2013 project examples about music and soil; • 19th July 2015 – The open days of Estonian farms – In cooperation with the Ministry of agriculture and LEADER LAGs; • The exhibition on wheels “Success-stories of Rural tourism” – RDP 2007-2013 project examples.

  7. Cooperation with Estonian Public Broadcasting • Estonian Rural Network Unit has produced video-clips and interviews in cooperation with Estonian PB – ETV - in 2008 and 2010 to 2014. • All togeter 165 videoclips • Rural Network Unit organized a competition to find projects for the video-clips. • A special committee formed to choose the best projects.

  8. LEADER TNC projects • 28 TNCs in Estonia • 19 Estonian LAG-s have participated in transnational cooperation projects • Budget: 676 760 • Main topics: preservation of folk culture, exchange of experience, promotion of the activity of the young people, tourism development, stimulation of cooperation between various groups. • Estonian LAG-s has been the leading partner in 6 transnational cooperation projects

  13. Growing Gastronauts Period: 2012-2013 • Partner countries (3): France, United Kingdom, Estonia – LAG Hiidlaste Koostöökogu and LAG Saarte Koostöökogu • The main objective of the project is to strengthen links between schools and local food producers.

Nordic-Baltic LEADER Transnational Cooperation (TNC) Awards 2013 The aim of the competition is to: • 2013, Rural Network Support Units from the Nordic-Baltic Region - Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden - initiated the Nordic-Baltic LEADER Transnational Cooperation (TNC) Awards. • highlight the importance • promote existing LEADER TNC “success stories” • Inspire LAG-s to continue during the new programming period • reinforce the role of LEADER in supporting implementation of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.
