  1. Creative Commons A “How-To” guide for success!

  2. To find pictures for your presentation, go to: http://creativecommons.org/You should see the following on your screen when you get there.

  3. Scroll down until you see the “find CC-licensed works” – Click on it.

  4. You should now see this…

  5. Now you can begin your search: - Type your topic in the search bar - “checkmark” the “modify, adapt, build upon” box - Highlight “Flickr” (you can actually search any of the options but Flickr is the most user-friendly)

  6. Once you have clicked all of the appropriate boxes, click on “Search”

  7. You should now see something like this. Make sure to click on the “medium” picture size so your pictures are “clear” in your book trailer.

  8. Now you just have to search through the pictures until you find one that you want to use. Keep in mind, pictures MUST be school appropriate!

  9. When you find a picture you like, click on it

  10. To open a “save-able” picture, right click on the picture. You should now see a little box that says “View all sizes”. Click on Medium

  11. You should now see your picture with several size options available. (Ignore the size options)

  12. To save your picture: - Right click on the picture - You should see the grey option box - Highlight “Save picture as” …

  13. Select “Documents” and then the “My Pictures” folder

  14. Once you are in the “My Pictures” folder - Click on the New Folder Button to create a “New Folder”

  15. Rename this folder “Presentation Pictures” and then click “Open”

  16. You should now see something very similar to this

  17. To change the name of the picture you want to save, highlight what is there and re-type the name

  18. Make sure that you are saving in the JPEG format and click “Save”

  19. To verify that your have saved your picture in the correct spot, open “Documents” and then click on “My Pictures”

  20. Find the folder you created that says “Presentation Pictures” and click on it

  21. HOORAY!! It’s there! (If you can’t find the picture you saved, you missed a step. Go back and try again)

  22. You will now need to repeat the steps to save AT LEAST 20 different pictures!
