  1. The “Character” Project Create your own original character in polymer clay!

  2. First, lets look at some characters created with polymer clay: • They can be very human with lots of personality!

  3. Or they could be more “mythical” characters.

  4. They may be pretty normal looking humans.

  5. Or, they may be really strange looking characters.

  6. You may exaggerate or change figure proportions.

  7. But they should be based on realistic human figures – NOT CARTOONS!!!

  8. They could be old and wrinkly.

  9. . . . or really young.

  10. Next, you need to decide what they are wearing.

  11. And what they will be doing.

  12. Now make your sketches. • Start by doing some quick sketches of your ideas.

  13. Then pick your best idea and front and side view in a neutral pose.

  14. Now you are ready to start creating!
