    3. More In very early times, 700 B.C. people had to know how to speak well because citizens ran the country and at any given time they could be called upon to speak to the public. They might be called to court which they would have to address a large gathering of people, or they might be called to speak as a diplomat. Either way knowing how to speak and how to speak well was essential.

Formats of Delivery Impromptu - The type of delivery given with little or no preparation Extemporaneous - The type of delivery where you gradually look at note cards, paper, or screen for key points to stay on task during a speech? Manuscript - The type of delivery where the speaker reads word for word from a script or screen? 8. Top Fears of Adults Fear of Snakes Fear of public speaking Fear of dying The reason most people get anxious when required to speak to a group is that they are afraid of looking foolish or stupid in front of many of their peers and important people. They are afraid that their mind will go blank or that their lack of speaking skills will lower the opinion others have of them. Being humiliated can destroy a person's ego and confidence. In fact, it can really ruin your day.The reason most people get anxious when required to speak to a group is that they are afraid of looking foolish or stupid in front of many of their peers and important people.
