  2. NATIONAL MUSEUM • Founded in 1818 as a Patriotic Museum of the Kingdom of Bohemia from the initiative of some Czech noblemen: Kaspar Count of Sternberg Franz Count of Sternberg-Manderscheid Franz Count of Klebelsberg

  3. Library of the National Museum • Currently, theLibraryisoneoffivespecializedinstitutesoftheNational Museum. Václav Hanka (1791–1861) first librarian and curator of the historical collections

Archive of the National Museum • Founded 1846 as a separate departmentfrom the iniciative of the historian FrantišekPalacký; • The Archive is currently one of 9 departments of the Historical Museum Karel Jaromír Erben (1811–1870) archivist, historian and poet,first archivist of the National Museum

  5. Archive of the National Museum changed its address several times during the 150 years of its existence 1891 1846 Presentrepository in the former military barracks in Terezín (Theresienstadt), from1997 2004

Archive of the National Museum manages 3 km of archival documents: • the administrative registry of the National Museum from 1818 until present • old historical collections (charters, patent deeds, seals, heraldic, genealogical and topographical collections) • From 1960s the private personal archives are the main aim of the acquisition

  7. National Museum is from January 2012 regular member ofICARUS and participant of the project Monasterium Robert Reiter scanned in November 2012 and January–March 2013 all parchment documents and some related paper charters from 30 record groups of the Archive Terezín, 20. 2. 2013

  8. Fully digitized: 3238 call numbers / 3254 pcs of parchment= 8812 scans; 19 paper charters = 40 scans Ʃ 3257 call numbers / 3273 pcs = 8852 scans Terezín, 20. 2. 2013

The A Parchment Collection • The biggest– 2013 call nr. / 2014 pcs from years [1140]–1893 (4282 scans) • Archivists Milena Běličová (cataloguing of charters) and Klára Woitschová (cataloguing and digitization of hanging seals) • Monography containing catalogue of parchments A until 1526 (726 pc) forseen in 2015 • The catalogue records will be subsequently published on the web www.monasterium.net Perg-A37, the last preserved charter by the Czech king Přemysl Otakar II., 30. 6. 1278

Kaska, Collection of Bohuslav Dušek • Will be published on www.monasterium.net until the end of 2013 The most recent digitized parchment charter – the announcement about the election of Edvard Beneš for president of the Czech Republic, 19. 6. 1946

Family archive Sternberg-Manderscheid • • Philip Christian of Sternberg (1732–1811), elder son of FranzPhilip • 1762 married Augusta of Manderscheid • (1744–1811), • heiress of the domain • Blankenheim • and Gerolstein • The family archive was donated to the National Museum from the inheritance of Franz of Sternberg-Manderscheid (1763–1830)

The cooperation on the processing of the record group S-M begun in 2012 together with: • Landschaftsverband Rheinland – Archivberatungs- und Fortbildungszentrum in Brauweiler-Pulheim, • Förderverein Eifelmuseum in Blankenheim, Nordrhein-Westfalen Partners: • Dr. Hans-Werner Langbrandtner • MonikaGussone The results of cooperation in the next years will show, which records from this record group would be helpful to digitize from the perspective of the European history.
