  2. What is Ebola? • It’s a virus. • This disease affects both humans and non-primates animals. • Ebola was named after Congo where it was first found in 1976.

  3. What causes: • Ebola fever is caused by a virus that’s in the Filoviridaefamily. • ”Filoviruses belong to a virus family called Filoviridae and can cause severe hemorrhagic fever in humans and nonhuman primates. ”-

  4. How do people contract this virus? • Body Fluids. • Infected Blood. • Contact with an animal who has Ebola. • Doctors also believe that it can be passes in the air when an effected person coughs or sneezes.

  5. Early Systems: • These symptoms usually last 2 to 21 days. • Arthritis • Chills • Diarrhea • Fever • Headache • Nausea • Sore throat • Vomiting • etc…

  7. Where have cases of Ebola fever occur? •  Democratic Republic of the Congo • Gabon • Sudan • Central and East Africa. • Etc… • There has been 3 cases reported in the U.S.

  8. IS there a cure? • There is not yet a vaccine or medicine to prevent Ebola. • Doctors and nurses have the highest rate of catching this virus. All though gloves may help prevent it there not 100% guarantee!!!!
