Who We Are: 501(c)(3) Non-Profits • 1980: Center for Community Self-Help Created to encourage and support worker-owned businesses through management consulting and technical assistance • 1984: Self-Help Ventures Fund Community development loan fund for specialized non-profit, commercial and business loans, real estate development and national home mortgage demonstration program • 2002: Center for Responsible Lending Non-partisan advocacy and research organization that works to protect homeownership and family wealth by fighting predatory lending practices.

Who We Are: Credit Unions • Self-Help Credit Union (1984) Includes CUs that have served NC since as early as 1944. • 60,000 members • 20 branches • $560 million in deposits • Self-Help Federal Credit Union (2008) Created to bring together a statewide network of credit union branches in California. Includes institutions that have served California since as early as 1936 and Chicago since 1882. • 50,000 members • 20 branches (17 in California & 3 in Chicago) • $465 million in deposits

Our Impact • $6.4 billion+ in financing provided over 30 years. • 87,000+ loans to families, individuals, business and nonprofits. • Helped achieve national mortgage standard that ensures fair, sustainable loans. • Help push for successful abolition of bank payday lending (“deferred deposit advance”) and elimination of payday lending in multiple states.
