Greenwich palace • Greenwich was an important palace in Tudor history. • It had been a royal residence since the 14th century, and was enlarged and remodelled by Edward IV, and further still by Henry VII and Henry VIII. • Henry VIII was born at the palace, as were his daughters Mary and Elizabeth. • It was also the site of the young King Edward VI's premature death.
