  1. T-shirt Manufacturing Process In Ancient times when humans did not have anything to wear, at that time due to low temperatures, they used to feel freezing. They used to wear animal skin which protected them from the cold. After a while, they started intertwining wikes and making baskets and mats. In that process of intertwining various things, they discovered the thread and rest we all know. In the year 1920, the first t-shirt was manufactured. T-shirts are available in different neckbands, crew-necks, v-necks, scoop necks, and tank tops. In t-shirts, we have different sleeve options long, short, capped, yoked, raglan. In t-shirts, we have a variety of prints available to share our political views, slogans, and taste. T-shirts are also the best way of promoting your brand and one of the cheapest techniques. The Machine Used In the T-shirt Manufacturing Process: - Automatic electric opener saw ginning machine This machine is used in the ginning process. A rotor-spinning machine is used in a spinning plant. A double jersey circular knitting machine is used in the process of knitting. A bend knife machine is used in the cutting process. Four-thread overlock machines, single- needle lockstitch machines and flat lock machines, these machines are used in the stitching process. Above all, the machine is used by t-shirt manufacturers in the t-shirt manufacturing process.

  2. Raw Materials Used in the T-shirt Manufacturing Process: The base material for t-shirts used by t-shirt manufacturers is cotton, polyester, or a blend of cotton and polyester. Neckband is used to give the shape of a t- shirt. It is either taped or sewn and made out of a material called twill. Some threads are used for stitching and sewing. We use similar threads for both processes. In some t-shirts, we use plastic to give that extra stretching. Cotton to Fabric Manufacturing Process Cotton Farming: First, we have to procure cotton from the farmer to start the t- shirt manufacturing. Cotton requires a long farming season, lots of water and a summer season to grow. This is the base material out of which t-shirts are manufactured. In our company, 90% of T-shirts are made out of cotton. Ginning Process: In this step, the cotton has 2 components: lint and seed. So both components are separated in a ginning unit using an Automatic electric

  3. opener saw ginning machine. From here, cotton is used for t-shirt manufacturing and cotton seeds are used for manufacturing vegetable oil, and it is also used as food for farm animals. Spinning Process: In a spinning unit, first the cotton is grouped in the form of a long rope, and then from this rope, thin threads are extracted, and then these threads are converted into yarns. The machine used in this unit is a rotor- spinning machine. Knitting Process: In this Step, various yarns are taken to make one piece of fabric. Various yarns are spun using a double jersey circular knitting machine. In this step, various threads are intertwined into each other, and a big sheet of fabric is made. The fabric is dyed in a particular colour, giving us different t-shirts and a refined finish look. Fabric to T-shirt Manufacturing Process Fabric Inspection: The fabric sheet is spread on a big table and inspected to ensure there are no damages in it and to find out if there's any shade variation. If there is shade variation, the fabric is cut according to different shades to ensure different parts of the t-shirt are not made of different shades. This stage is very crucial in the t-shirt manufacturing process for maintaining quality. Fabric Cutting: Fabric is stacked layer on layer on each other at the time of mass production. Several dimensions are cut, like front, back, sleeves, neckband and pocket if any. Then the cut parts are stacked and sent to the stitching team. When cutting, the best possible ratios have to be taken for the efficient use of the fabric. The person who does the cutting is termed a cutting master. Stitching: In this step, various parts are assembled into one t-shirt. There are various machines used in this process: 1. The two main parts that are front and back, are sewn together using a superimposed method [2 Parts are kept on each other and sewed together]. 2. Sleeves are sewn to the t-shirt body using the same superimposed method, and the hem of the sleeves are stitched beforehand. 3. Shoulders are sewed, and sometimes we use plastic in it that gives us extra stretch. 4. Neckbands are of 2 types, crew neck t-shirts are sewn using a superimposed method but v necks are sewn using a mitering method.

  4. 5. The hem of the t-shirt is swed to the t-shirt using a method called overlock which gives extra stretch. Printing: Printing is done to the t-shirt to make it stylish. There are several types of printing. Screenprinting, digital printing, heat embossing and spray printing. Screen printing is the traditional type of printing but an effective method. Ironing: This is a crucial step where the t-shirt is given a finishing look that the customer likes. The t-shirt is ironed lightly, and then sent to the packaging unit. Packaging: T-shirts are first tagged. Tags are pieces of information that contain mrp, batch no, colour, design name, and washing instructions. The t-shirt is packed in a plastic packet, and there is cardboard kept with the t-shirt to give a firm support to it. Then ten t-shirts of the same size are kept in a small box and 32 such boxes are kept in a large box.
