  1. Interesting Facts: 20 March Spring Equinox Equinoxes occur twice a year – in Spring and Autumn. At each equinox the length of the night and day are nearly equal in length – 12 hours each. Equinoxes occur when the axis of rotation of the Earth is exactly parallel to the direction of motion of the Earth around the Sun. 21 March World Down’s Syndrome Day Today mark’s the 11th year of World Down’s Syndrome Day when awareness is raised of Down’s Syndrome and what it is. It is learning disability. We are all individuals and people with Down’s Syndrome are no different to anyone else in their character traits and varying moods.

  4. Eco Club Good morning everyone, firstly we would like to say a big thank you for participating in our Eco Action Week Earth Hour last week. Mr MacKinnon will be taking meter readings so we can compare and see how much energy we have saved. Last Saturday night was the official Earth Hour between 8:30 and 9:30. We hope you remembered and had fun in the dark with your torches. We would like to share with you updates to our Eco Action board. The Big Bird Watch is now completed so that is now green. The results of our big count can be found next to our Eco Action Board. Our top four birds for 2016 are starlings, blackbirds, carrion crows and house sparrows. We have chosen a date for our annual Bag the Bruck which will take place during the week beginning 18th of April. This target is now yellow. Giving out our Energy Monitor badges and take meter readings are both yellow now.

  5. Eco Club Mr MacKinnon is needing some help to repair our bottle greenhouse so the Eco Club members will be helping him out in the afternoons this week if class teachers can spare us. Monday – Alexander, Victoria and Heather Tuesday – Samantha and Jamsie Wednesday – Georgie and Libby Thursday – Jocelyn and Zara Everyone is on LAW duty this week as it is our last week. Thank you for listening!
