Atmosphere • The inner core is a solid section of the Earth and is unattached to the mantle, being suspended by the molten outer core • The outer core is very hot • The Earth is surrounded by a blanket of air, which we call the atmosphere • Consists of air • Anyone who dives under the surface of the water notices that the pressure on their eardrums at a depth of even a few feet is noticeably greater than atmospheric pressure.

  3. Hydrosphere • It includes the oceans, seas, lakes, ponds, rivers and streams • It covers 70% of the earths surface • Consist of water, in, on and over the Earth • In Latin, Hydro means water • It is in every living thing

Lithosphere • The Lithosphere is the solid, outermost shell of a rocky planet • The lithosphere contains a rich variety of minerals • Continental drift- When the continents move a few inches • Volcanism- The early Earth's interior was heated primarily from decay of radioactive elements • Plate Tectonics- Are the plates that hold the earth together

Biosphere • Consists of anything living • The Biosphere extends to the atmosphere where birds and insects are found • It is where all the spheres work together • The zone of life • “Birds typically fly at altitudes of 650 to 1,800 meters, and fish that live deep underwater can be found down to -8,372 meters.”
