  1. “LKr in the Dry run” G.Lamanna (CERN) Mainzcollaboration meeting TDAQ WG – 8.9.2011

  2. Introduction • The LKr will be one of the main actors in the spring’s dry run • The dry run will be a good opportunity to consolidate the system and to integrate the readout in the NA62 TDAQ • The goal is to have a fully working system for the first run with the beamin autumn

  3. LKr detector status • Low voltage: ~600 channels (transceivers, preamplifiers and regulators) monitored using ELMB with adapter board and Digital I/O based on PLC Siemens S7-300 • High voltage: New CAEN power supply (compatible with CERN DCS) controlled using DIM (by B.O’Connell)

  4. Calibration • Checkup of the calibration system: • Rearrangement of the crate • Check of the system • Possibility to test the new calibration controller implemented on the TALK board

  5. Trigger • Clock: the clock generator has been moved in the EB, the clock distribution to the CPDs has been checked. • Trigger: The trigger distribution will be done by the TALK board  no needed to support the old TS PC Farm LKr PCs CPD SLM TTC L0TP TALK Choke/error

  6. Readout • CPD FastBus power supply refurbishment by WIENER: prototype under evaluation (10+10 final production) • All the SLMs and CPDs are mounted. In the next months the whole system will be tested using calibration (4 CPDs 1 SLM) (4 SLMs 1 PC) CPD SLM LKr PCs (To the switch) (216 CPDs) (52 SLMs) (13 PCs… Actually 16) TTC Timestamps TALK (To the switch) CPD The SPS signals (used for the readout by the LKr PCs) are detected using the MOL board with a TTCrx mezzanine card (D.Gigi). Small problems with the PCB building (it’s a 10 Gb PCB), the prototype will be ready soon. We have already, as spare solution, the FED card for the same purpose CPD CPD

  7. The Readout farm • The readout farm is composed by 12 SuperMicro SC808T-980 + 4 Elonex power servers: each PC can handle 4 SLM output (the Elonex 2) • LKr PCs apply the zero suppression and format the data for the transmission to the EB farm • The readout software is ready (Roberto P., Hank B., Riccardo F.). The merging of the fragments and the timestamp matching will be done, probably, in the farm upstairs • The data are bring upstairs using 2x10 Gboptical fibers after a 24x1Gb switch … 16 LKr PCs SWITCH 2x10 Gb TALK (timestamps) Services

  8. TALK as L0TP • The base solution for the L0TP for the dry run is the use of a “special” PC • The TALK board will be ready to be a spare solution • 4 (or 5) ethernet inputs (more using a switch), 4 Lemo inputs, Choke and error inputs. • The firmware design is already started and will be completed in the next months LTU TTCex MUV3 TTC TALK CHOD TEL62 RICH
