  1. Complete RENEWING YOUR PASSION FOR SPIRITUAL LIVING Romans 8:14-17 I.  TO LIVE PASSIONATE SPIRITUAL LIVES, WE MUST KNOW WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE POSSESS. 1. One reason why people do not live passionately for God is because they do not know all of the benefits they possess. 2. As Christians, listen to the benefits we have in Christ.

  2. A.  We are children of God. I John. 3:1,2 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. Romans 8:16,17The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ;

  3. 1. We are children of God. We are related to the creator of the World. 2. We have a Father who loves and cherishes us even though at times we sin against Him. B.   We are free from condemnation. Romans 8:1-2There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

  4. 1. The Bible tells us that prior to becoming Christians, we were spiritually dead. Ephessians 2:4-6 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 2. Not only were we dead in our transgressions and sins, but we were under a curse

  5. Galatians 3:10For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. That curse (condemnation) was removed the moment the blood of Christ cleansed us from all of our sins. 2. Since we are free from condemnation, the guilt of our sin is gone. We have once again become pure in the eyes of God.

  6. a. That means we live in daily forgiveness, as the blood of Jesus constantly cleanses us from all sin. I John. 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowshipone with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. b. When Satan accuses us and reminds us that we fall short, that we've sinned, that we're not worthy, we must not buy into his lies. I John 1:9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  7. C. We are heirs to the kingdom of heaven. Galatians 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. 1. Before we gave our lives to Christ, we were slaves of sin. 2. We have gone from being slaves to being heirs. 3. Being an heir means that we are going to inherit something of value. 4. You are an heir of God. One day you are going to receive your inheritance in heaven.

  8. John 14:1-3Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. TO LIVE PASSIONATE SPIRITUAL LIVES, WE MUST KNOW WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE POSSESS. A. We are children of God. B. We are free from condemnation. C. We are heirs to the kingdom of heaven.
