The Agricultural Development Service Program in Guatemala, organized by Kristin Krenz and Kathleen Karika in 2009, aimed to empower undergraduates through hands-on agricultural projects in Chimaltenango. In collaboration with the Borlaug Institute and the L.T. Jordan Institute, the initiative provided students with a three-week immersive experience. Participants assisted Mayan farmers while developing cultural competencies and agricultural skills, said to enhance sustainability. The program emphasized fundraising, marketing support, and networking, fostering a spirit of community engagement and environmental stewardship.
