  2. Global Introductions:World Literature • Why is it important to study World Literature? Why it is important to study other cultures? • Write your response on your global introduction sheet. Include specific examples to support your opinion for each topic. Fill in all lines. Write neatly.

  3. Eternal Life: Epic of Gilgamesh • Imagine you could live forever. What are some positive and negative effects of immortality?

  4. Destruction (Epic of Gilgamesh) • If you were God, would you ever destroy mankind? When would you? What would make you make this choice?

  5. Health, Wealth, Life, or Support? • If you had to choose between one of the following options, which would you choose and why would you choose it? Why would you choose this choice rather than the others? • Have perfect health for all the days of your life and die peacefully. • Have all the material possessions and wealth that you desired. • Live forever throughout all time without growing old. • Have the perfect friends, family, and spouse.

  12. Magical Genie (1,001 Nights) • If you had a magical genie with 3 wishes, what would you wish for and why would you make those wishes?

  13. Best Advice (Tao Te Ching) • What is the best advice someone has ever given to you? • What is one of your favorite sayings or quotes? • What is one of your favorite lines from a song or movie?

  14. Fairy Tales (Fables and Parables) • What is your favorite fairy tale, fable, or children’s story? Why is this your favorite? What lesson(s) does it teach?

  15. Children’s Lesson (Parables and Fables) • What are some of the most important “lessons” that children should learn from their parents, guardians, and teachers?

  16. Nature’s Inspiration (Tanka and Haiku Poetry) • What is the most beautiful place or thing that you have observed in nature? Where were you? How did it impact you?
