2. Description The new Nubia Red Magic 3 is the latest and one of the greatest low to midrange phone to come out from the Chinese company, ZTE. The phone has a very unique design and has a very sturdy feel to it. The overall look of the phone is pretty much same as the previous model from ZTE but the specs are al higher end. It can’t be considered a flagship killer since it is only a midrange phone but has awesome features and qualities at a cheap price.

3. Design The Nubia Red Magic 3 does not have a conventional design. The back design for this phone is very unique compared to other traditional phones. It has and angular design on the back and an all metal build. It has triangular design on the top and bottom in the back side and a vertical straight line. It measures 171.7 mm x 78.5 mm x 9.6 mm for height, width and thickness respectively and weighs around 215 grams. It has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and screen-to-body ratio of 80.37 %. The volume keys and the power button are both on the right side of the phone and the SIM card slot is on the left. The charging port and the speaker grill is on the bottom part and the headphone jack is on the top. The pentagon shaped camera is on the upper triangle on the middle and above the camera is the flash. Below the camera is the fingerprint sensor. The logo is centered on the bottom part. The Red Magic 3 comes in Flame Red, Black, Red-Blue gradient and Camouflage.

4. Display The look and feel of the phone suggest that it is made as a gaming phone. The display and the build of the phone gives an immersive experience. It has a 6.65-inch AMOLED display which is a standard for an android phone which give a better color gametes and better saturation. The aspect ratio of the display is 19.5:9. The display is a bezel-less display but not completely since there is a little bit of chin on the bottom and a compartment for the front camera. The resolution of the screen is about 1080 x 2340 pixels with the pixel density at about 388 ppi. The screen to body ration is calculated to be 80.37%. It is a capacitive touchscreen display with multi-touch feature. The screen is protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass. The screen is made very tall and big for an immersive gameplay like mentioned before and an AMOLED display for a bright screen and popping colors.

5. Cameras The Red Magic 3 has a simple single lens setup for both the front camera and the main camera. The front camera is F2.0 16 MP lens which one of the best lenses for a front camera even for higher end phone. The main camera is a F1.7 48 MP wide angle lens which is also one of the cameras for a midrange phone. The camera can produce images of resolution 8000 x 6000 pixels and can shoot videos 7680 x 4320 at 30 fps. That means the main camera is capable of shooting at 8k. This type of feature is amazing for any type of higher end smartphones. With the 8k shooting feature, the camera lens also has a IS. The camera also has some standard features like Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection and Touch to focus. The camera also has PDAF. The shooting modes in this camera are Continuous Shooting and High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). The camera is powered by an Exmor-RS CMOS sensor.

6. Performance The performance of this phone easily rivals the top tier smartphones even though we said that it can not be considered a flagship killer. The chipset on the Red Magic 3 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. It has an Octa core (2.84 GHz, Single core, Kryo 485 + 2.42 GHz, Tri core, Kryo 485 + 1.8 GHz, Quad core, Kryo 485) processor. The graphics for this phone is powered by a Adreno 640 GPU. It comes with Android 9.0 (pie). The Nubia Red Magic 3 has a 64-bit architecture with 8 GB of RAM. The internal storage on this device is 128 GB with no external storage feature. It can hold dual SIM cards, both nano types. It has all the basic sensors like the Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Compass and the Gyroscope. The 4G network feature is also available on this phone with all the other standard connectivity features.

7. Battery The battery on this phone is huge, which is a 5000 mAh battery made for gamers. The battery is huge for long lasting hours for the gameplay and also keeping in mind the huge AMOLED display. The battery is a Li-Ion battery with a quick charge feature. The phone does not support wireless charging since it has a metal body but has a USB Type C as the charging port.

11. The phone is a great all-rounder phone especially for a cheap midrange phone. The display on this phone is amazing and the build quality is very premium. The batter is also great and the lenses on the phone is absolutely the best for a mid-range phone. The phone costs only around $479 in the USA and £380 in the Europe.
