  1. A Beginner’s Guide to Piano Lessons Parents these days are inclined towards encouraging their children to indulge in extracurricular activities such as Piano Lessons along with their studies. Learning a musical instrument not only is a great way to spend the leisure time but it also makes one highly popular amongst friends and family. The Various Types of Piano: Though pianos maybe of different styles, shapes, sizes, and designs, they are classified into two broad categories – the vertical and the horizontal pianos. These two categories have further sub-divisions. Vertical Pianos – these types of pianos are named so because of their height and the location of the strings. Vertical pianos are about 30 to 60 inches high and are further divided into four categories: Spinet – The smallest type of pianos, it is perfect for places which lack space. Console – Console pianos come in various styles and designs and have more enhanced tones. Studio – This is the most popular type of piano that is used during Piano Lessons with Outstanding Teachers. Upright – Tallest in the group, these are usually 50 to 60 inches tall and 58 inches wide. They are su?- divided into six categories: Petite Grand - The s?allest i? the group, it?s a?out?? to ?8 i??h tall ?ut ?o?sidera?ly powerful. Baby Grand –This type is a common choice because of its sound quality, artistic appeal, and accessibility. Medium Grand –It?s slightly larger than the baby grand at around 67 inches. Parlor Grand –These pianos are also known as living room grand pianos. Semi concert or Ballroom –Next in sized from the parlor grand pianos, ballroom pianos are around 74 to 213 inches tall. Concert Grand –These are the largest of all grand pianos and are up to 9 feet tall.
