Staff Meeting to inform about Forest school concept (19/4/10) Two Reception classes start 2010 Level 3 training booked for three teachers: July 2010 Becoming a Fairtrade and a Forest School Whole school assembly. Lessons taught to years 3 and 5 classes Junior School Fairtrade, Forest, Primary School!

Years 3 and 4 had already worked alongside our Creative Partners [many of whom are artists, sculptors, animators and web designers] and learnt about problem solving, independence, team work, effective participation, self review and leadership –in February 2010 our challenge was called:  The Faraway Tree Here they had worked in mixed age groups with an adult partner to contribute to the project’s learning outcomes.

  5. Planning Shelters: May 2010 Year Four looked at shapes and structures in the environment and built models of possible shelters

  6. Making shelters The Year 4 children collected together what they could find to build shelters

  7. Model Making Models were made of the mini beasts and insects found at the shelter sites and were then taken out to them
