Features and Statistics ofAVID at PVHS • 9th year (Class of 2012 - 6th graduating class) • 100% acceptance rate to 4 year colleges for the students that apply • Cal Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCI, UCR, UCSC • SDSU, Cal Poly SLO / Pomona, CSULB, CSU Humbolt, CSU San Francisco • USC, Smith College, Villanova University, University of Michigan, University of Arizona, Pepperdine University, Chapman University, Indiana University, Santa Clara University, University of Colorado, Franklin College in Switzerland, DePaul, TCU

PV AVID Statistics (based on 2010-2011) • AVID CSF membership • 57% of AVID student population • Class GPAs average 3.3 • 89% of the program passed all classes with C’s or better • Honors / AP enrollment • Freshman: 21% took at least 1 honors • (up from 14%) • Sophomore: 32% took at least 1 AP or honors • Junior: 24% took at least 1 AP • Senior: 58% took at least 1 AP • (up from 42%)

  5. iLead Program Components • Must enroll in iLead Course (Mr. Belcher) • Course title – “Opportunity” (Pd. 4) • in lieu of Health…must take on-line or summer • Guaranteed Foreign Language Course • Core Subject Clusters (math, science, Eng.) • Lunch and before school tutorial (potential) • Tutors and cluster teachers providing support

Highlights • Academic tutorials (potential) • Outside, professionally trained tutors • Community service hours (potential) • Freshmen / Sophomores: 10 hours per semester • Juniors: 20 hours per semester • Seniors: Senior Presentation/Project • Library Tutorial Center & “Cram” Sessions • After school tutorials (M-Th) • Weekend “Cram” Sessions (Fri & Sat before end of semester exams)
