  2. I WISH I HAD SOME SORT OF TOOL TO HELP ME UNDERSTAND THE NEEDS AND RESOURCES OF MY COMMUNITY AS WELL AS OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROJECT ACTIVITIES. AS OF NOW, I’M JUST HANGING OUT ON THE COUCH…….

CAT OBJECTIVES • To provide the PCV with a tool to develop more formal and professional relationships within their community and local institutions • To provide the PCV with professional development skills in the design, methods, analysis and needs assessments in the international development setting

  4. Today’s Session Objectives:By the end of the session, the Trainees will be able to: • Identify and discuss the methodologies of CAT • Define, describe and implement a baseline study • Understand the format of the Community Diagnostic Report • Recognize and discuss attitudes that are considered necessary to be successful in implementing the CAT

  5. BASELINE STUDIES use a range of methods to establish a starting point for projects. They provide valuable social and economic information which is critical to project decision-making and predict impacts.

  6. ATTITUDES NECESSARY TO PULL THIS OFF SUCCESSFULLY!!!

  7. So, with the proper knowledge, skills and attitude regarding Community Assessment, you could be aBIG-CAT VOLUNTEER!!!
