In Galatians 2:11 and Ephesians 5:1, the call to live a life aligned with our faith is emphasized. Just attending church doesn't make one a true Christian, as illustrated in Matthew 3:8 and James 2:18. When Peter ceased associating with Gentiles to please the Jews (Galatians 3:26-30), he acted contrary to the inclusive love of Christ (Mark 2:15-17). True faith manifests in honesty and moral integrity in every aspect of life, fostering peace in communities. We must remain authentic to our beliefs, resisting the temptations of inconsistencies.

WALKING UPRIGHTLY ACCORDING TO THE TRUTH Gal. 2:11ff
Living the Life • The evidence of our faith. • Eph. 5:1 • “Crowing in the barn yard no more makes you a rooster than amening in the church building makes you a Christian.” • Matt. 3:8; James 2:18
What Did He Do… • That was so wrong? • He stopped associating with the Gentiles. Was that so wrong? YES, it was. • Gal. 3:26-30; James 2:1-13 • Why did he do it? To appear something to the Jews that he wasn’t. • And he knew better. Acts 10:44-47; 11:2-3, 17-18; 15:7-11
The Christian Life… • Consists of following the Christ. And He loved us all. • John 8:11; Mark 2:15-17 • To know the truth is not the same thing as walking uprightly according to the truth.
Marks of the Upright Life • Honesty – at work, home, school. With self and others. • Morally upright. • Two situations with mechanics • Matt. 7:12. • Keeping peace, in the church and elsewhere. 2 Tim. 2:22; Heb. 12:14
Inconsistencies Promote Dissimulation • Peter needed to be true to his beliefs. • So do we.
