Weekly Curriculum Overview: Reading, Math, Science & Upcoming Events (Sept 30 - Oct 4)

During the week of September 30 to October 4, students will engage in Unit 1, Week 6 of Reading and Language Arts, focusing on phonics and comprehension skills, leading up to a poster presentation on an animal research project on Friday. In Math, we will continue Investigation 1 of Unit 2, emphasizing number sense. There will be no reading tests this Friday. Upcoming school events include Open House on October 1, Breakfast with the Principal on October 8, and AMSTI night on October 24.

September 30 – October 4 Unit 1 Week 6 Reading/Language Arts Skills: Red denotes tested skill (Fridays) Math: Unit 2 Investigation 1 Number Sense; Math Journal and Unit 1 Test 2 Science: Balance and Weighing • We will be reviewing phonics skills, comprehension skills, and learning about research this week. • Your child will be researching about an animal in class and making a poster about what they have learned. They will present this poster on Friday to the class. • There are no Reading tests on Friday!
