Since then, the University for Peace has organized 11 international conferences focused on Ethnobotany (Costa Rica-1999, Guatemala-2001, Bolivia-2003, Brazil-2004, Mexico-2005, Peru-2007, Mexico-2009), Portugal-2010, Turkey -2013. This Symposium aims at the scientific exchange across borders and lectures delivered by invited distinguished scientists, short oral communications and posters in Ethnobotany and allied sciences. Therefore, it is a great pleasure to announce the XII International Ethnobotany Symposium to be held in Peru, (September 16-24th, 2014). Location The congress will take place in Cusco, the Holly Capital City of the Incas. Fieldtrips will complete the Journey of Symposio in the unique Sacre Valley (Urubamba) Cusco Old Inca’s Capital and Machu Picchu . • Topics • Andean Food Production • Biodiversity • Bioprospection • Sustainable development • Ethnopharmacology • Ethnomedicine • Folk traditions • Geobotany • Medicinal plants intime and geography • Pharmacognosy • Ethnopsychiatry Abstract submission Short lectures and posters (indoors and ex-Auditorium) related to the above mentioned topics are welcome. All participants should submit a condensed version of their contribution, not larger than a page 8.5 x 11 inches, formatted in Arial font (size 11, 1.5 spacing). Margins should not exceed 2.5 cm in all directions. Everyone interested in contributing with an abstract is kindly requested to proceed to submission by email to simposio@ice.co.cr or to: rosa.Urrunaga@gmail.combefore August 23d , 2014. All abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific Committee and relevant notifications about acceptance or rejection will be sent out to the presenting author until 10 August 2014.
